Ross Levin

Hi, I'm Ross Levin. Welcome to my profile!

Ross Levin's Bio:

Ross Levin is the Head of Business Architecture for the Prime Services division of Itau BBA. He brings nearly 20 years of financial and technology expertise, having held multiple high-level positions in the financial industry. Mr. Levin was brought in to Itau in 2012 to develop and build a brand new Prime Services business from the ground up. During his time at Itau, Ross managed all aspects of this endeavor, leading to a successful launch of the business in July of 2013. Since then, the business has seen a revenue growth from $0 to $7mm run rate and a book growth from $0 to $6.5bb, while maintaining a very low balance sheet and low overhead expenses. Mr. Levin attributes this success in such a short period of time to the innovative approach that was used to set up the business structure, including full Operations outsourcing through use of the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) model, as well as selecting cloud-based technology vendors that significantly reduced time to the market. Ross has also been heavily involved in building a successful real time risk model, as well as in negotiations with new and existing clients to establish and solidify business relationships. Prior to Itau, Mr. Levin was at Royal Bank of Scotland for 12 years (RBS acquired ABN AMRO in 2008; ABN AMRO acquired ING Barings in 2001), holding multiple positions including Head of Operations IT, Head of Equities IT and, most recently, Head of Product Development for the RBS Prime Services division. During his tenure at RBS, Ross was engaged in a multitude of revenue-generating and cost- cutting projects dealing with multiple internal and external organizations, various asset classes and managing teams in multiple locations. Since Mr. Levin joined the Prime Services organization in 2005, the company has significantly improved its positioning in ISF surveys, taking most of the #1 positions among Tier 2 peers in 2011 in both Securities Lending and Synthetic Finance categories. Most notably, Mr. Levin led five major broker/dealer integration/divesture projects in different capacities, the most recent one being the acquisition of ABN AMRO by a consortium of companies led by RBS. These complex programs were executed with very high precision and earned accolades from the regulatory bodies overseeing the transitions. Prior to joining ING Barings, Ross was at Merrill Lynch (now Bank of America) working as a senior developer in the International Stock Loan department. He started there as a consultant for a technology company, Sybase (now SAP), then was brought aboard to oversee several important initiatives around global trading platform implementation. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Mr. Levin worked as an independent contractor for several financial and telecommunication clients developing systems using various IT tools.  Mr. Levin holds a M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kiev Polytechnic University.
